Nuneaton Griff 1-5 Kenilworth Sporting
Saturday 8th August 2026

Nuneaton Griff were beaten in a heavy home defeat to Kenilworth Sporting at The Pingles Stadium on Saturday 8th August, a stark contrast to Wednesday's win over Bolehall Swifts.
Griff started brightly for the first five minutes before a difficult 25 minute spell saw them fall 5-0 behind, with poor finishing at one end and poor defending from long throw ins at the other proving costly.
Four substitutions were made at half time, with a fifth arriving 15 minutes into the second half, and the changes had the desired effect as Griff came out to win the second half 1-0, Lucas Stanley getting on the scoresheet.
Manager's Reaction
Speaking after the game, First Team Manager Wayne Hadley said:
"A collective of everything, poor finishing from ourselves and poor defending from long throw ins, and the in between midfield not as commanding as Wednesday. A consistency we need to iron out moving forward, we set the bar and need to maintain it. A lot of work to be done moving forward. We are not going to make any excuses but take full responsibility, starting with me, the manager."
Man of the Match
Well done to Mark Kintu, who was voted the opposition's Player of the Match for his performance against Kenilworth Sporting.
