Nuneaton Griff were beaten narrowly 3-2 away at Paget Rangers in a much improved performance that ultimately ended in a late sucker punch winner for the hosts.

First Team Manager Wayne Hadley:

"We rang the changes from Monday, bringing in Luca Bien, Clay Powell, Simon Short, Mark Kintu and Keaton Blackbird, with Ruben Wilson, Mihail Petrov and Lennon Murphy returning to the bench. It was a much improved performance, controlling the majority of the game with Powell pulling the strings all afternoon."

"We took the lead around 25 minutes in, a cracking strike by Kintu, however on the stroke of half time Paget split our defence to score a well worked goal, 1-1 at the break."

"In the second half we came out the stronger, Powell making a great run in behind to square to Kintu, who dispatched off the underside of the crossbar. With 17 minutes to go, schoolboy defending cost us, a long free kick into the box headed home by their centre half, 2-2. We pushed for the winner, Belcher hitting the side netting and Harry John having one cleared off the line, and that came back to bite us as Paget countered to clinch a very scruffy winner with 4 minutes to go."

"It was a much improved performance, but we need to stop conceding very poor goals, else we are never going to help ourselves. It's a tough time, but the togetherness and effort is there, we need a bit of luck to turn the corner."
