Report: Coventry Alvis (A) - Nuneaton Griff

Coventry Alvis 3-0 Nuneaton Griff
Saturday 3rd October 2026

Nuneaton Griff were beaten 3-0 away at Coventry Alvis on Saturday 3rd October, with the hosts scoring either side of half time after a tightly contested opening spell.
Manager's Reaction
Speaking after the game, First Team Manager Wayne Hadley said:
"It was a very competitive 41 minutes, looking like both teams were going in deadlocked. However, a long ball over the top caught our defence napping, and hesitation from our keeper made the winger's mind up, lobbing him to make it 1-0 at half time."
"In the second half we found ourselves 3-0 down after 60 minutes. A free kick that didn't beat the first man broke to Alvis on the counter attack and they scored a well worked goal, credit to Alvis. The third followed shortly after, a long ball flicked on for the striker to run free and again lob the onrushing keeper. 3-0, game, set and match."
"We had two chances. In the first half Bartram pulled a great save from the home keeper, and late on Wilson rounded the keeper and agonisingly put it wide. Other than that, it was a pretty dull day, with a Griff side who really lacked any desire and passion."
